Scott Saunders, DDS is a researcher, speaker and writer on airway, sleep and oral health. He co-founded Healthy Mouth Media, producer of the Functional Oral and Airway Health Summits with his partner Bonnie Benjamin. Scott received his DDS degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry, and practiced general dentistry and periodontal wellness.
Importantly, Dr. Scott suffers from severe obstructive sleep apnea, and probably has for most of his life. He is currently using the implanted Inspire device and is recording his journey and experiences with it at www.healthymouthmedia.com/inspire
Although no longer in practice, he brings his dental knowledge and experience to his interviews with many top experts in dentistry and medicine, focusing on the oral/airway/sleep connections to whole-body wellness. His goal is educating the consumer/patient to find and understand the root causes of the symptoms they see in their children – or themselves – and then help them find the right tools – and properly trained support – to receive the best treatment possible.
Realizing that most current health research isn’t available to the public – or even to busy health-care professionals, Dr. Scott and Bonnie began producing the Functional Oral and Airway Health Summits to bridge these information and education gaps, and empower health consumers and professionals alike.
Dr. Saunders is honored to be one of the expert trainers selected by Dr. Dale Bredesen to teach physicians and dentists about the oral and airway connections to Alzheimer’s for Dr. Bredesen’s ReCODE (the Bredesen Protocol® to prevent and reverse Alzheimer’s).
Dr. Saunders is available to speak on a variety of dental topics on your: podcast, interview, summit or other venue.
Co-founder and COO of Healthy Mouth Media, Bonnie received her BSBA degree from the University of Connecticut, and worked in accounting before starting her own 7-figure/year manufacturing company that she successfully owned and ran for over 25 years.
Bonnie grew up in a medical family, with a physician grandfather and multiple generations of nurses. After meeting Dr. Scott Saunders in 2009, Bonnie realized that partnering her own passions for business and writing with his empowering vision could fill key knowledge gaps, and bring cutting-edge, actionable information to health consumers AND professionals.
Bonnie is an active contributor to Healthy Mouth Media, doing researching, writing and interviewing with Scott for the popular Functional Oral and Airway Health Summits.
